Digital payments are the cornerstone of a digitally empowered economy.
E-commerce, financial inclusion, and government payments highly depend on them.
PAGA is a joint WEF-IDB Lab initiative that aims to expedite digital payments in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Since 2021 we have established a community of 750+ public and private sector representatives to explore how to best unlock the true benefits of digital payments in LAC in an open, inclusive, and safe manner.

Build good regulatory practices to reduce market barriers and facilitate cross-border payments

Promote public-private sector collaboration, encouraging SME inclusion in cross-border payments and trade

Drive the facilitation of new technologies and foster innovation among stakeholders

Explore digital trade agreements to secure safe cross-border digital payments
We are now preparing for Phase III of the PAGA Initiative, expanding our focus from Latin America and the Caribbean to a global scale. We invite interested stakeholders worldwide to reach out and discuss priorities and themes for the next phase of our work.
Collaboration opportunities include offering funding, seconding fellows, or providing input and expertise.
